About Nickel City Sound
Nickel City Sound was formed in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
in 1996, out of a collective love of singing harmony. Our
entertaining performance style, a combination of delightful
harmony and sparkling showmanship leads to invitations to
sing for various community events.
The chorus attends two competitions each year: an Area
Contest and Convention (AC&C) in May and the International
Contest and Convention (IC&C) each November. Through these
competitions we hone our craft and connect with our sisters
in harmony from the United States and Eastern Canada. Most
recently, Nickel City Sound finished first in our area, and in the top 10
internationally, out of 60 competing choruses.
From Halifax to Hamilton, Jacksonville to London, Nickel
City Sound travels far and wide to compete and represent the
Sudbury area. To help defray the travel costs, we fund-raise
by sharing our talent through singing telegrams, concerts
and other performances.
Never missing an opportunity to sing, Nickel City Sound
volunteers at various nursing homes, seniors residences and
charity events around the city.
